Meet Deborah Thompson

Where Nova’s Wish Began

Nova’s Wish didn’t begin with the idea of writing a book.

It began in classrooms, family conversations, and thousands of moments spent helping young children navigate the world with confidence, kindness, and love.

For nearly three decades, I had the privilege of working as a preschool teacher. During those years, I watched children learn, grow, struggle, celebrate, and discover who they were becoming.

One lesson stood above all the others.

Children flourish when they truly believe they are loved, valued, and special.

No matter their personality, talents, or challenges, every child
deserves to know that their worth is never something they have to earn.

That belief became the heart of Nova’s Wish.

One Simple Truth Changed Everything

Throughout my career I met countless families searching for ways to help their children feel more confident, connected, and secure.

After years of listening, observing, and learning, I realized something beautifully simple.

Children don’t need more pressure.

They need more reassurance.

They need to know they are loved simply because of who they are.

That realization inspired me to write a story unlike any other one where the child becomes part of the adventure.
